Illingen- Vogesen (Plainfaing) - Tag 1 bis Sarrebourg

Beautiful route for trekking bike. First through Merchweiler and Quierschied (lots of traffic) into the Fischbachtal (fewer cars). In Saarbrücken, take the towpath along the Saar or from Saargemünd along the Saar coal canal to Harskirchen (the path up to there is in very good condition!). In Harskirchen, turn right uphill towards Zollingen. Stay on the height and along field and forest paths to Diedendorf, then back down into the valley on the D8 (lots of traffic). Through Niederstinzel to Fenetrange and Berthelming (good bakery!). In Berthelming, go straight to Gosselming (from here the road is hardly trafficked) and continue to Sarrebourg. Here you will find several simple hotels.
