Feld- und Wiesen-Tour

The tour begins at the train station of Bad Rodach, the final station of one of the last single-track branch lines in Germany. After a short stretch through the eastern part of the spa town, the lush green of farmland opens up, which initially appears quite flat. The gradients to be overcome during the tour will be moderate. However, a magnificent distant view will open far into Coburg country. Passing past meadows and fields, we first head towards Elsa and then on to Oettingshausen. Shortly afterwards, a small forest is reached – on hot summer days the perfect spot for a longer break or a picnic. On well-built paths, the tour then leads through an extensive landscape of meadows and fields back to Bad Rodach. This section also provides an educational insight into the agriculture of the region. Impressive is the successful coexistence of intensively used arable land, wild hedge rows, neglected fruit trees, and refuge areas for plants and animals. The high quality of the produce can be tasted upon arrival in one of the many inns in Bad Rodach.
