This loop in Mae Rim and combines an exertive 1000m climb to Mon Cham with 10 km downhill fun through the forest. It starts on Rd. 1096 and follows the tarmac road through the Mae Sa valley passing several tourist attractions, including a snake farm, an elephant camp, and the Queen Sirikit botanical garden. In Pong Yaeng, take the small road to Nong Hoi royal project and Mon Cham (steep uphill). Optionally you can go all the way to the Mon Cham restaurant for a break. Another option is to turn south to the rock tower viewpoint on top of the cliff (1400m). The double track dirt road to Mae Raem is quite rough and has some challenging sections, but overall it's only medium difficulty. You need a capable mountain bike to handle this trail.
