From Burgos, take the road to Villarcayo until Incinillas and leave the car there. Take the BU 5741 toward Manzanedo. In the Valley of Manzanedo, on the right hand, are the ruins of the eponymous monastery. You can swim in the Ebro a few kilometers later, going down to the river at the first crossing, on the left side. At the first intersection, you must take the BU 5746 to the right, toward Soncillo. Below the village of Landraves, you can find the gorge of Las Palancas. The next village, Hoz, is very nice with the Trifón river running through it. Then you have to go up; below you can see some huge caves. Go down to Soncillo - there are beautiful views on the way down. In Soncillo, take the road to Espinosa, BU 526. Down below, before Santelices, turn right onto the BU 561 that follows the Nela river, one of the prettiest rivers in the province. Enter the village of Puentedey with its wonderful natural arch. The surroundings and the village are very nice and it is a good place to eat. Leave the village via the BU 5612, toward Ahedo, passing through a tunnel, below the old tracks. In just under a km, on the left hand side is a marked jump. The exit from the village of Ahedo de Linares is not very well marked; it is better to ask someone in the village about Ojo Guareña. This monument is worth seeing; up ahead, about a hundred meters from the parking lot, there is a very cool parliamentary tree. You need to go down on the BU 5625 toward Cornejo where you can follow the Trema river until it flows into the Nela near Villarcayo. Leave Villarcayo toward Incinillas via CL 229 and then N 232.
