About this route

0

The Col du Grand Cucheron (1188m) is located in the Belledonne massif. It connects the Huiles valley to the Maurienne valley. From the starting point (the junction of the D202 with the D209), the gradient rises gently to Villard-de-la-Table (average gradient 7%) but with some short sections over 10%. The ascent then offers a break over just more than 7 kilometres to reach the hamlet of Les Granges. It is just after leaving this small hamlet, with a few chalets, that the real difficulties begin. Over the last 4 kilometres the gradient rises very quickly to reach an average close to 10%, with sections approaching 15%, before reaching the summit.
