GC - H. (Westroute, Leinawald, Penig, Burgstädt, Wittgensdorf)

The tour from Glauchau to Chemnitz first leads up from the Mulde valley into hilly terrain until it descends into the Pleiße valley just before Altenburg. WARNING 1: Between Tettau and Zumroda on the Thuringian side, only field path! WARNING 2: The connection from Großmecka to Mockzig is a very bad field path ... okay with a mountain bike, but otherwise unacceptable. Here alternatives would be reasonable (directly into the Pleiße valley?) From there continue pleasantly flat over Münsa to Windischleuba (favorite section), then up to Rüdigsdorf (cobblestones in Wüstenhain!) and down to Linda (labyrinth), up to Jahnshain and again down to Langenleuba-O., finally on the bike path to Penig, through Penig on side streets (blocked streets everywhere!) and over Chursdorf to Burgstädt. It would have been better to go directly into the Chemnitz valley instead of through Herrenhaide and Wittgensdorf. Interesting tour, although with potential for improvement.
