About this route

0

The Peñón route, also called La Copa, is known for being the highest hill in Carabobo State. This route passes through some ravines, offering great landscapes with views of the town of Montalbán and most of the High Valleys of Carabobo. Most of the path is wide, with some very steep concrete climbs, known as burriquitos, which will test our physical fitness. In summer, dust can cover our bikes and become relentless. Usually, some 4x4 vehicles and many hikers circulate on weekends. On this route, there is a path leading to the Peñón rock, well known to the locals as this rock stands out in the landscape and offers a nice view of the town of Montalbán. At the end of the journey, you will find the antennas indicating that you have reached the hill's summit, which locals know as La Copa.
