Route 05: Wieck - Weststrand III - Born und zurück

On Route 2 through the Darß forest to the "Großer Stern"; continue straight along the European long-distance path E9 ("Old Mecklenburg Way"), after 1.8 km, 100 m past the second left-hand bend, turn right and continue on E9 for another 700 m to the West Beach.

For the return, continue south on E9 to the next junction, turn left, cross the next intersection until reaching the mouth of the "Küsterweg"; follow Küsterweg slightly left for 300 m to the next junction and then bear slightly right onto the "Ibenhorster Weg" towards Born.

At the "Kleiner Stern" cross the Bäderstraße diagonally and continue straight on to the street "Am Wald" on the outskirts of Born. From there continue straight on through the street "Am Moor" towards the town centre.

Alternatively, take a small detour turning right towards the Gut Darß estate. After the entrance, turn left and pass the estate's farm shop (organic meat and game according to season, farm café) to the Kletterwald Darß climbing park. Those with excess energy can burn it off here.

Continue along the small connecting path to the street "Grüne Hufe", turn left there back onto the street "Im Moor" to return to the main route (detour length approx. 300 m).

Follow the street "Im Moor" to the right and proceed along Chausseestraße to the port of Born (several dining options, e.g. "Petersons Hof", "Walfischhaus" or a snack bar on the mole). Here you connect with Route 3 and can return to Wieck along this route either clockwise or counterclockwise.
