The individual time trial over the 9.5 km course with 41 meters of elevation from Naumburg to Züschen represents the first of three challenges for all participants.<br /> Some gentle inclines must be tackled in the race against the clock.<br /> On the dominant sections through open terrain, riders will be challenged by some crosswind and headwind sections.<br /> Here, the first time gaps between riders will occur, which will determine the tactics in the subsequent road race.<br /> Riders will start at one-minute intervals, and the order will be drawn beforehand.<br /> Drafting is not allowed during the race.
