About this route
Die Alte Salzstrasse ist die historische Verbindung zwischen der Salzstadt Lüneburg, Lauenburg an der Elbe und der Hansestadt Lübeck. Mehrere Bahnhöfe bzw. Jugendherbergen liegen an der Strecke und bieten eine bequeme Möglichkeit, die Route etappenweise zu befahren. Die Strecke ist landschaftlich reizvoll, leicht zu bewältigen und hat zwei attraktive Städte an ihren Endpunkten.
Es gibt zwei Varianten: Die erste, ca. 90 km lange Strecke, führt komplett am Elbe-Lübeck-Kanal entlang vom Lüneburg über Lauenburg und Mölln und nach Lünbeck. Die zweite Variante, mit ca. 105 km. Führt über den Naturpark Lauenburgische Seen von Lüneburg über Lauenburg und Ratzeburg nach Lübeck. Bei dieser Tour handelt es sich um die erste Variante.
