Lacul Vulturilor (Lacul fara Fund)

A particularly beautiful tour through the still pristine charm of the places and through the unprecedented element of the Eagle Lake, our final destination. We undertook this route on August 13, 2011, together with Cristi and Ion. Our journey starts in Siriu, climbing the robust chest of the dam, where the ramp forces you to take the bicycle by the handlebars for a few hundred meters, after which it continues smoothly alongside the valley of the Great Siriu, approximately 20km. After this section, prepare to raise your heart rate a bit because until you reach the alpine meadow area (approximately 4km), you will only face ascents and the stony road will take its revenge on those who tread painfully on its deeply embedded stones. After you exit the forest, you are greeted by the soft mountain trail, a little more climbing and one or more shepherd dogs, as appropriate. A little further, you really have no alternative and will circumvent the Dry Lake through the grasses, a micro-swampy depression that I don't know how God left directly in the way, after which you should already see the Lake. You will linger there for at least an hour and after getting bored of stuffing your face into pictures, disturbing the marvelous scenery, you can turn back or secrete a bit of adrenaline by descending through the Crasna Valley. Here, between Km 32-36, an especially technical stretch awaits you, steep, with ditches and intense sensations, on the condition that you try to traverse it ON the bicycle. Then the path suddenly calms down and if you're okay, it will eventually lead you to the boring asphalt of DN10, which you also return on to the base. These are the last 20 km where you will still struggle on 2-3 short ascents. In the meantime, you could turn your head to the right to see how the reservoir shows its tail bathed in sunshine, but it's useless to tell you that because you're already thinking about a hot soup and a steak with fried potatoes anyway.
