Kolem v.n. Dalešice a Mohelno

We set out from Hartvíkovice towards Popůvky, on the left side we have a military airfield. From Popůvky we continue to Kramolín, in the village at the intersection, we turn left, about a kilometre later we turn right and arrive at the stone lookout tower Babylon, which was built as early as 1831 and is thus one of the oldest lookout towers in the Czech Republic. From the lookout tower, we continue along the Energizing Route to the Mohelenská Serpentine Steppe. This national nature reserve is among the most valuable locations in the Czech Republic, but also in Europe. The unique steppe meadows and forest steppes covering the northern slopes facing south above the meander of the Jihlava River in the Jevišovická Highlands are home to many significant plant and animal species. We continue to the dam of the Mohelno reservoir. This reservoir primarily serves as a water supply for the Dukovany nuclear power plant, and in the 185 m long and 49 m high dam, there is a hydroelectric power plant. Its banks are inaccessible. We then continue along the Brewery Route around the ruins of the Rabštejn Castle up to the dam of the Dalešice reservoir. The Dalešice reservoir is the deepest water reservoir in our territory. Its dam is 99.5 m high and 380 m long. It is the highest embankment dam in Central Europe. For higher embankment dams, you would have to look in the Alps or the Urals. From the dam, we continue for a while on the road and then turn right onto route 5107, which will bring us to Dalešice, to the brewery known from the film Postřižiny, where we can refresh ourselves in the brewery restaurant. Furthermore, in Dalešice, we can visit the local castle. Via the road through Stropešín, we cross the bridge over the Dalešice reservoir, turn right onto the path that will shorten our way back to Hartvíkovice.
