Kylltal-Radweg

The Kylltal cycle path connects the source of the Kyll near Losheimergraben on the German-Belgian border with the confluence into the Moselle at Trier-Ehrang and the nearby Roman city of Trier, just a few kilometers away. This scenic cycle path, which is 111 km long, follows the course of the wild and romantic Eifel stream Kyll. It passes by numerous castles, mills and picturesque Eifel villages, and crosses several landscape forms of the Eifel. For almost its entire length (from Jünkerath to Trier), the cycle path is accompanied by the railway. The majority of the route is flat to hilly. A steep ascent (>10%) is located between Kyllburg and Bitburg-Erdorf. However, this section can be bridged by train. The route is mostly paved, while the rest runs on firm paths. The cycle path is recommended for nature and culture interested leisure cyclists. Between Gerolstein-Bewingen and Densborn, a nearly level, approximately 20 km long children's cycle path has been established.
