Kanal und Auen Runde

A small loop in the middle of the city but almost exclusively on small paths, hardly any streets and almost always along the water. It passes by canals, swimming ponds, meadows and the Außenalster.

The route is not suitable for road bikes, but should be fine with a touring bike. Unfortunately, there are stairs at two spots, which are marked as POI on the map. At the first spot, you can easily ride down the steps with a mountain bike, but the two steps up at the other end require some skill. It's better for beginners to dismount. At the second spot, the stairway leading up is not passable. Those good on a mountain bike may be able to ride up the embankment, but otherwise, it’s also time to dismount (or detour) here.
