Description according to Moser-Bike-Guide 7_Tour 10 (2nd edition, 2000) Beautiful, varied and always following the river valley, the Isar loop on predominantly good trails. Also includes some idyllic and predominantly well-rideable, easy trails. Aside from the predominantly easy trails, there are no difficulties. Rating according to Moser: Bike fun: 4 stars out of 6; Scenery: 2 (6); Endurance: 1 (6); Technique: 2 (6) My assessment since my last ride in 2003: From the Großhesselohe bridge, the route is " officially " closed (fallen trees and warning signs) due to the potential danger of rockfall. Passage possible at your own risk. Entry into the trail up to the Grünwald bridge is extremely arduous (steep, slippery, root-filled; carry/push section). The Isar river trail after the bridge until its exit is virtually not rideable (deep sand, fallen trees), unless your bike has wide tires. I left the riverside trail at around km 7.5. Continuing on the various forest trails (between km 10 and km 13) resembled more of a mud battle and was partially impassable (steep sections filled with roots). This section should only be approached after a longer period of good weather (unless you are a masochist or an absolute expert).created this 11 years ago
