About This Route

l Montello eÌ€ una collina di terra rossa a forma di grande ellisse che si eleva, isolata e ben definita, a sud dell'attuale corso del fiume Piave. Tutta l'area fu teatro di cruenti scontri nella Prima Guerra Mondiale e proprio da Ciano del Montello partiÌ€, nel 1918, la controffensiva che portoÌ€ l'Italia alla vittoria finale. A testimonianza degli scontri offensivi dell'epoca troviamo vari monumenti militari quali l'Ossario dei Caduti, il Monumento a Francesco Baracca, il museo della guerra e il cimitero di guerra inglese.
