Lago Lugano – Logo di Como – Lago Lugano

Start at the La Sbiiaca campsite in Porlezza, initially flat along Lake Lugano, then very steep (consistent 12%) climbing 600 meters in elevation. At the top in Intelvi, you can enjoy a nice cappuccino by the sports field. Then a very steep descent down to Argegno on Lake Como. From there, flat again, always along Lake Como (lakeside road, quite busy) to Menaggio. Warning, do not enter the tunnel there!! Then very steep again (12%) climbing 200 meters in elevation. Halfway up, a great bike path (in Italy!!) begins, an upgraded former railway track. This bike path (flat again toward the end) returns to the campsite. The Lago di Piano is also included on the return route (midway on the former railway track). A recommended route if you can handle the first steep section. One part of the bike path had slipped down the hillside during our tour. There, we had to carry the bikes across.
