The Ruta 1714 Viles cremades passes through places in Catalonia where certain episodes of the War of Succession occurred.

The Viles cremades 1714 are about twenty Catalan towns that suffered military terrorism practices by the Bourbon troops during the war. Looting and burning of towns and the indiscriminate killing of civilians to intimidate the population and spread the pedagogy of terror were common practices.

In Catalonia, around twenty towns were burned in total, and the most affected regions by this order were Osona, Bages, Alt Penedès, Maresme, Vallès Oriental, Baix Llobregat, Selva, and Vallès Occidental.
