Character: Before Hameln, in the area of the gravel lakes, the path is gravelled. Also between Kleinenwieden and Kohlenstädt. Otherwise, we have an asphalt bike path ahead of us, which is alongside the road or leads off without incline. Traffic: Between Hessisch Oldendorf and Rinteln, we ride on the road within the small towns, in the larger municipalities and cities in normal street traffic. Bürgerhaus in Hameln: Wie manch anderes Dorf wurde auch Hameln in der Nachbarschaft eines Klosters gegründet. St. Romanus hieß das Benediktinerkloster um 850, neben dem das Dorf an der Weserinsel lag. Die Insel und eine Felsbarre im Fluss machten das Schiffen hier zu einem Wagnis. Stiftskirche in Fischbeck. Zwar war das uralte, 955 von der Edelfrau Helmburgis gegründete, Stift Fischbeck nie ein Kloster im strengen Sinne, doch war die Gemeinschaft der Augustinerinnen einem klösterlichen Konvent durchaus vergleichbar. Zunächst wurde das Stift für die unverheirateten Töchter des Landadels eingerichtet, die sich als Kanonissen ohne ewige Gelübde geistlicher und karitativer Tätigkeit widmeten. Ratskeller am Marktplatz in Rinteln. Die eilig vollzogene Gründung Rintelns um 1235 durch Graf Adolf IV. von Holstein-Schaumburg geschah aus strategischen Gründen.
