Valdemorillo; Vuelta a Valmayor 14.03.15

Long route with the Club, clockwise 53.3 km in 3:29 hours and a total of 4:23. We leave from the esplanade of the cemetery to go around the bullring, heading east, climbing towards Zarzalejo. From there we take the Roman road and descend to El Escorial crossing the Cercanías line. We circle the town taking the road that comes down from Cruz Verde and after a couple of roundabouts, heading towards Guadarrama, we turn off parallel to the train line until we reach the urbanization of Navalquejigo. Leaving the urbanization to the left, we ride on the paths that run along the right bank of the Valmayor reservoir. We cross it by the road bridge and once finished, we turn right to climb to the hermitage of Colmenarejo. We head down towards the village of Valmayor and the ETAP and finish at the old Aulencia dam. The final descent is along a very bad and dangerous path due to the fall that goes to the right. The exit from the dam is a hard track although not very long. We reach the Pino Alto urbanization and then Valdemorillo to the north. An entertaining route with a bit of everything that should be investigated to see how to remove the road section that circles El Escorial and avoid crossing Valmayor by the road, skirting it along the left bank when leaving the urbanization of Valquejido.
