Lake District 15. Etappe Puerto Varas - Petrohué

I have breakfast at the hostel together with other backpackers and travelers; it's a colorful mix of like-minded people from all over the world. Here too, I meet a noticeable number of German tourists, perhaps because many German emigrants have settled in the entire area. I get to know a young woman from Münster who is traveling here alone with her 6-year-old daughter, chapeau. The breakfast is also quite ample by Chilean standards. Then I stock up on provisions for the coming days and continue along Lake Llaquihue heading east. Today, the wind is almost calm again and there are no significant climbs to overcome. So I reach Ensenada already around noon and treat myself to a lengthy rest. The remaining stretch to Lake Todos Los Santos isn’t too demanding either. At the lake, there is only an expensive hotel and a campsite right on the water; I opt for the latter. There are many day-trippers here since it’s the weekend. In the evening, however, it quickly becomes quieter. I meet a camper from Switzerland who has been traveling in a motorhome in South America for two years, then a young girl from ?? joins us; she too is traveling alone here in Patagonia. Both have, just like me, a lot to share.
