About This Route

Auf dem Gänsehals errichtete die RWE 1976 einen 74 m hohen Richtfunkturm. An diesem Turm wurde in 24 m Höhe eine Rundumaussichtsplattform angebracht, die der Bevölkerung zur freien Verfügung steht. Hiermit ist die Aussicht über die Eifelregion noch besser geworden und jeder Besucher ist begeistert von dem herrlichen Rundblick. Der Gänsehals ist, neben umliegenden Bergen, ab 29.11.1983 unter Naturschutz gestellt. Seine landschaftsprägende Erscheinung und die seltene Flora werden in der Begründung besonders hervorgehoben.
