Donau-Radweg: Immendingen-Sigmaringen

A visually stunning route. You will experience firsthand how the Danube originates in Donaueschingen, sinks underground at Immendingen, how it recovers and how over time it had to carve its way through the Jurassic rock. From Donaueschingen to Fridingen, the route is mostly flat through the Baar plain. From Fridingen onwards—because of the narrow valley—you should expect several small, short climbs. As a reward, breathtaking views of the Danube valley and the surrounding cliffs and mountains await you. There are many castles and palaces, some in particularly exposed locations. You will pass by Beuron Monastery and see Wildenstein Castle from the valley. Inzigkofen with its monastery and finally Sigmaringen with Hohenzollern Castle will captivate you.
