Reiter Steinbergrunde

From Bikegasthof Friedlwirt, we cycle along the road towards Unken and then bike along the Saalach through Lofer and St. Martin. After St. Martin, we keep left towards Wildental, passing Strowolln, and face the first challenging climb of this tour. By the way, at both Strowolln and Wildental, you can visit two of the gorges and ravines typical of the Saalach Valley. We continue climbing and reach the Eiblkapelle over the Schattseithirschbichl, marking the highest point of the tour. After a short downhill section, we pass the junction to Litzlalm, then the Gasthof Hirschbichl, crossing the state border. After a steep descent, the idyllic Hintersee awaits. After another short climb through forest and meadows to Schwarzbachwacht, a steep downhill on coarse gravel takes us through the Schwarzbach nature reserve to another alpine hut. Now we pass through Unterjettenberg and Oberjettenberg (attention! Don’t miss the turnoff!) and finally return to Unken on a single trail.
