Von Tutzing nach Kaltenberg zur Schlossbrauerei

The tour is designed for a group that travels from Tutzing to the Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg, where they will be picked up by a bus with bike transfer. However, there is also the possibility to take the train from Geltendorf, for example to Raisting or Weilheim, to shorten the return journey.

The tour starts somewhat laboriously, as first, the ascent to Ilkahöhe via Monatshauser Straße must be overcome. Once this ascent is scaled, we ride at a brisk pace from Monatshausen to Pähl. From Pähl, we use a field path that leads us to the Ammer. We follow this downstream, and then after about 3 km, turn left towards Raisting, leaving the Ammer. Just before Raisting, we turn left again and reach Dießen am Ammersee after a few kilometers. After a short stop at the lakeside promenade, we continue on the Ammerseehöhenweg marked with a large A. We now follow this path for a longer stretch. To reach the height of the Ammersee, we have a longer ascent to conquer from St. Alban through Bierdorf to Gut Engenried, which will cost us a bit of sweat. Now we continue along the Ammerseehöhenweg to Gut Achselschwang. Here we leave the elevated path to reach Hechenwang via Steinebach. Our odometer now shows about 38 kilometers traveled, time for a lunch break at the rustic inn Saxenhammer in Hechenwang.

After quenching our hunger and thirst, we ride from Hechenwang through Neugreifenberg and Pflaumdorf to St. Ottilien. After visiting the abbey church and the mission museum, we will take a coffee break at Emminger Hof before we mount our bikes again.

After coffee and cake, we set off towards the final stage to Kaltenberg, which we will soon reach. Here, we will have a drink to conclude our cycling tour at the brewery, before the bus brings us back to Tutzing.
