Pohorska kolesarska transverzala (PT)

Along the gentle slopes of Pohorje runs a cycling path that connects the eastern part with the western. This transversal connects with local biking trails from all major centers around Pohorje. In the Koroška region, the starting point of this 75 km long varied tour, which is marked (with the PT designation) in both directions, is at Koča pod Kremžarjevim vrhom above Slovenj Gradec. The end of the path (or start from the opposite direction) is at the Center for Natural and Cultural Heritage in Bolfenke on Pohorje or at the lower station of the Pohorje cable car above Maribor.

Pohorje is a mountain range in the northeastern part of Slovenia. The peculiarity of Pohorje is the characteristic view of the dark green forests of spruces. In the forested expanses of Pohorje, the woods are deep and dark; here and there almost impenetrable. Conifers predominantly prevail in them. On Ribniško Pohorje grows the Sgermova spruce, which at 61.8 m height is the tallest tree in Central Europe.
