About this route
For the Hunsrück, this is a route with a relatively balanced elevation profile, alternating descents and not too steep climbs.
A rest is recommended about halfway along the route at Forellenhof near Börfink (but it is only open on weekends!).
This route is one of my favorites because you mainly travel on forest and field paths and on low-traffic side roads. The ratio of paved to unpaved sections is about 60:40. The route can be easily managed with a regular trekking bike or mountain bike.
