Trails um Bad-Münstereifel

!!! Tour without Ameisentrail !!!

At the Steinbach dam, our trail round around Bad-Münstereifel begins. I parked in the small parking lot on Talsperrenstraße, so you can take the little trail down to the dam.

Once down at the dam, you ride right along the shore down to the restaurant. You keep right towards Arloff and then turn left, entering the forest. Following the tour, you then arrive at the "Ameisentrail", which is a lot of fun.

But CAUTION: The trail is a bit tricky, as it has a lot of roots!!!

Once down, turn left towards Bad-Münstereifel. Not far along, the next trail along the Friedwald appears before us. Here, however, CAUTION, roots!!

Passing the edge of the forest above Münstereifel, a short relaxation is in order. We head into the municipal park and up to Rodert. Through the forest you then reach Decke Tönnes (chapel). Behind the chapel, one crosses diagonally over Schleidtalstraße into the trail towards Scheuerheck/forest. Passing along the edge of the forest, over a few fields and meadows, we then head towards Scheuren. After Scheuren we dive back into the forest. Along the edge of the forest, a fast trail winds downhill, as we leave Todenfeld to the right. When we reach the forest chapel in Rheinbach, we turn left behind it onto a forest path and higher up we turn right into the next trail, which we follow until below Merzbach. Asphalt road up to Merzbach, over a small bridge into the forest. It goes leisurely downhill again to the Beuelskopf hut. At Beuelskopf (295m high) stands the current Beuelskopf hut, which is a nice place to rest. After a short stop, we continue towards Queckenberg/Loch. Passing through the village, we climb back up to Steinbach. If you want, you can now take the trail down to the "Klostertal". Upon reaching the dam, you just climb back up to Talsperrenstraße and you are back at the starting point.
