About this route
From Cavriglia you take Via Roma, then Via della Repubblica, you pass through Grimoli and arrive after 3.5 km at a fork, where you take the dirt road to the left - Via Vecchia Badia - and reach, after about 2.5 km, another fork; you leave the old Badia road and take the San Benedetto path to the left which, after about 1.2 km, reconnects to the Vecchia Badia path. Just another hundred meters and we are in front of Badia a Coltibuono.
You descend until you reach the SP di Montevarchi, turn right and, after a few meters, left onto the Strada Vecchia di Gaiole, which is partly unpaved.
From Gaiole to Pianella, follow the signs for L’Eroica.
From Pianella to Asciano you continue to follow the Eroica, but in the opposite direction to the official route.
