R11a Muchówka - Sułków

The route is conducted on side roads of Pogórze Wielickie. On the route you may encounter many cycling paths, however mindless riding along the trail may end up on a meadow. Therefore, one should follow this description and the KML track, and above all have a good map of the area. The surface is generally good. It's worth practicing fast descents on a bike beforehand. It's essential to CHECK THE BRAKES, a bad condition or sudden failure can lead to a serious accident due to the sharp, rapid descents.

1. From Muchówka to Sobolów

From the church in Muchówka, we set off... south, on a common section of provincial roads 966 and 965. After 220 m from the church, we turn right. We follow the road. After a while, we start a descent that a real downhill rider would not be ashamed of. After 3.9 km from the provincial road, we turn left towards the church in Królówka. In the square in front of the church, we turn right until we reach the intersection of village paths with an electricity pole in the middle. After 2.3 km we pass a subordinate road on the right side, and our route turns left. After 500 m we are on the subordinate road, we turn left (the road on the right goes steeply down). We are halfway up the long climb. We still have quite a distance to go up, and then we go down. After 4.7 km we arrive at Soborów, on the left side before the main road we have a church. We turn left down.

 

2. To Sułków.

We go straight on the district road (with priority) for 3.7 km until the sign directing to Nieznanowice to the left. We turn left and go straight. After 1.3 km we cross the bridge over the Raba. We continue straight and after 2.3 km from the bridge we arrive at the intersection with DW967. We cross it straight ahead. After 450 m we turn left, after 850 m - right and immediately left. After 4.7 km we arrive at the intersection with DW966, which we also cross straight ahead. We exit Bilczyce, enter Sławkowice and after 2.9 km of steep ascent we turn right onto a subordinate road for an even steeper ascent. I enter the road with priority straight. After 750 m we turn left uphill. At the top, we go straight on the road with priority. After 800 m the road turns left uphill, at the bend on the right side we have two local paths. We go on the priority road. After 1.1 km we turn left towards Wieliczka, and after another 2.2 km we turn right towards Tomaszkowice. After 1.1 km we turn right and continue on an asphalt road. Occasionally we may encounter a missing speed bump. We pass a four-way intersection and after 1.2 km we reach the intersection with DW966, which we cross straight ahead. After traveling 300 m we turn right and as quickly as possible left. After another 800 m we pass under the overpass over DK94. The route ends 750 m later, under the church in Sułków.

3. Further riding towards Kraków.

Before the mass in Brzegach, further riding may be virtually impossible due to the large number of pedestrians and narrow roads. On other days you can use the S11 route, which will lead to Kraków - Bieżanów (intersection of Bieżanowska Street with Barbara Street).
