Maritim-Route der Probstei

A complete tour around the Probstei. Passing by kilometers of sandy beaches and idyllic lakes. Feel the expanse, take a deep breath. Experience and enjoy nature. Cycle towards the horizon. Our Maritim Route starts at Baltic Bay, the large marina in Laboe. First, follow the course of the ships, always along the coast.

After passing the stone pier in Stein and the museum harbor at Marina Wendtorf, the beach sections California and Brazil follow. Now it’s just a few kilometers to the fishermen’s huts at Schönberger Strand. And to the pier: like an outstretched finger, it extends 260 m into the Baltic Sea. A long, open view, then it continues inland. Extensive fields and meadows, interspersed with the typical hedgerows of Schleswig-Holstein, welcome to the heart of the Probstei.

 

There, where the bike tour turns into a lake ride. But the Selenter and also the smaller Passader See don’t have to be passed by. Both invite you to rest and swim along their shores. The last stage finally leads past the secluded Kasseteichen ponds in Muxall, then along the coast back to Laboe. Back to the sea, thus closing the circle. The well-signposted Maritim Route is 61.3 km long, flat, and also suitable for bikes with trailers.
