Radhošťská

A route for those who love big challenges! It passes through three mountain ranges. Nearly 2500m of climbing! After a rough descent from the Javorníky ridge, there is a climb to the Vsetínské vrchy ridge followed by a long descent into the Rožnovská Bečva valley. From there, the path begins to climb relentlessly to the very summit of Radhošť at km 35. There is a wooden chapel with a statue of Saints Cyril and Methodius. The final part of the climb is on a ski slope, testing the strength, endurance, and skills of all bikers! The following 10 km are a relaxing scenic ride on paved roads with refreshment at Pustevny, famous for buildings by Slovak architect Dušan Jurkovič. Along the ridge of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, we also pass the well-known statue of Radegast, the pagan god of hospitality, fertility, and harvest. At km 48, the route returns to off-road terrain and near Bumbálka joins the Vsetínské vrchy ridge where a fast, smooth trail starts. The brutal descent from Vsacká Tanečnice allows no rest, and the final asphalt climb back to the base drains the last energy from the surviving bikers. The beer at Portáš will be truly well deserved!
