Around Uršlja gora (small loop)

A good 40 km long circular mountain bike route leads along local and forest roads that connect the scattered hamlets and farms around Uršlja gora. The route runs mostly on gravel roads and through spruce forests, past several viewpoints, tourist farms, mountain huts, solitary farms, and rural hamlets. The starting point is located by Lake Ivarčkem, a popular recreational tourist center above Ravnami na Koroškem, and connections also run from surrounding areas of the Mežiška and Mislinjska valleys. A shorter alternative route of about 20 km is also possible, partially running along a forest path.

Uršlja gora (1699 m) is the easternmost part of the Karawanken. The peak rises above the tree line, which has been lowered in the past centuries due to alpine grazing. On clear days, the view from Uršlja gora reaches all the way to the Julian Alps and the Pannonian Plain. Due to its exceptional scenery, which also inspired the academic painter Karel Pečko, it is a popular point for hikers and cyclists.
