About this route

2

Start from the station. Ride through the city center. Then head out and pass through San Bonigo, Casoni di Gariga, Gariga, Podenzano, arriving at Grezzano Visconti. After exiting, just past Case Brioschi, turn left towards Borgallo, then pass Case della Chiesa, following a short connecting dirt section. Then right, left towards San Damiano. Right until Case del Riglio, then right towards Cerini. The climb begins. Pass through Ca' Gazzotti and Valle to reach Gropparello.

Continue on SP10bis passing Castellana, Groppovisdomo, Mistà, Costa della Mora, Orezzi, and then Prato Barbieri where the climb ends (920 m altitude). Reach Guselli and, at the junction after the village, take a right onto SP15 towards Morfasso. The route cuts right on a descending dirt section.

At Morfasso, start climbing again up to Monte di Pedina (741 m altitude). Continue through Rusteghini on SP15 until you meet SP359R, where you turn right. Follow SP359R reaching the Valico di Monte Pelizzone pass at 1044 m. Continue to Cogno Gazzo and, after leaving the village, at a hairpin turn, the route follows right on a descending secondary road (803 C), passing through Piana di Gazzo, Ponticelli, Ca' Volta. Instead of rejoining SP359R, after a few meters turn right onto a dirt track (803C9, still descending) which before reaching Bardi becomes paved again.

Pass the castle, then continue on SP21. The route cuts the SP with a descending dirt section. Arrive at Ponte al Ceno, cross the stream and reach Monti. Continue on SP21 on the right side of the Torrente Noveglia. At Case Bagaglia follow SP21 which turns right inland. Start climbing again.

Reach Comune Soprano, then Pratofemmine, and finally Passo Santa Donna at 940 m. The route turns left onto a secondary road, then at a hairpin bends right onto a descending dirt track. Optionally, one can follow SP21 to also reach Porcigatone.

Follow SP21 for about 3 km, then take a right dirt track which after about 2 km becomes paved again reaching Borgo Val di Taro.

Instead of following the main SP running along the left side of the Taro river, near the station take the secondary road (SS Colle di Centocroci) which goes more inland to reach Ostia Parmense. Continue to Roccamurata and still on SP52R until the junction where you take right onto Fondovalle Taro to reach Ghiare di Berceto. Follow SP19 to the junction where you continue straight on SP308R towards Solignano. Cross the Taro river and continue until you find SP104 to Cassio on the right.

Turn right onto SS62 to reach Berceto.

Optionally, you can reach Berceto directly from Ghiare di Berceto, saving about 30 km and 300 m of elevation.
