Plan of the bike trip from Valdai to Pola.

The route goes through the Iversky Monastery in Valdai, goes through the Valdai protected forests, and then to Demyansk. With a stop in Privole (formerly Glukhoe Demidovo) - the homeland of my grandmother, great-grandfather, and all my maternal ancestors. It may also be possible to visit the site of Kholmy - the former village of Kholmy, now vanished, where my mother was born, but this greatly extends the route. The places are swampy, Glukhoe Demidovo is alive, but the road is a dead-end swampy road. A visit to my grandfather hermit, who lives by the river Pola, is also possible.
