About This Route

Train to Ilava,then Horna poruba, Homolka pass, Valaska bela, Liestany, Nitrianske rudno, Bojnice(castle), Prievidza, Nitianske pravno, Klacno, Klastor pod znievom(there is a pass vricke sedlo),Turcianske Teplice, Here is a nice rocky valley Gaderska dolina (starting in Blatnica) theoretically you can cross here the mountain range as well but you need to push your bikes(2 hours on a steep path) to Kralova studna and then there is a gravel descent to Harmanec and Banska bystica. Or you can return and continue to Sturec pass (direction harmanec). I would go to Kralova studna even if more demanding and steep(you need to push or carry your bike). You can even sleep there in the hotel, there is a nice view, meadows etc (alt 1300m)

Between Harmanec and banska bystrica there is a nice village Spania dolina with old mines. It's a bit up in the mountains Then Banska bystrica, lucatin, lubietova- (gravel)- chata pod Hrbom (possible accommodation), Tri vody, Osrblie, Brezno (cheap accomodation near to Ice hockey arena), Helpa, then up to the Nizke Tatry trough Priehyba pass, descent to Cierny Vah. Here is a hydro power plant, makes sense to climb to the upper reservoir, there is a nice view to tatry. Then continue to Liptovska Teplicka and Strba, Poprad, to the south dir. Hranovnica and Vernar pass and Statena, there are canyons and caves. Here makes sense to visit Slovensky raj(by foot) there are gorges, waterfalls etc. Just leave your bikes in the pension or better take gravel path Glacka cesta and hide bike in the forrest. From here Spisska Nova Ves and Spisske podhradie with really big castle. From here I would consider to turn to the south, but I would not miss the national park Slovensky kras(caves and table mountains)
