About This Route

This third section of St Ninian’s Way starts from the centre of Annan continuing west along Bike Route 7 and crossing the  bridge onto Annandale Way. Then proceed south on west bank of River Annan to crossroads (2 km). Here either continue along BR 7 inland to Powfoot (5km) or take short cut along coast to Powfoot (3 km) but going may be difficult in places. Then rejoin BR 7 and quiet roads 14 km to Bankend.

Don’t miss the museum at Ruthwell and the famous Brow Well.

Very flat.

Option of a short cut along the coast or inland though rich farmland.
