Trage Tocht Cromvoirt

We are taking a genuine walk on the edge of forest and farmland around the Brabant village of Cromvoirt, just under the smoke of Den Bosch. Cromvoirt is situated at the transition from the higher, dry sandy soils to the low, wet Meuse valley. The walk takes place largely over the foothills and along the edges of the Loonse and Drunense Duinen National Park. In the woods, the low sand dunes are clearly recognizable. Halfway through the route we take time for a break at the pancake house De Helvoirtse Heide. We continue our journey for a stretch along the Drainage Canal. On the next part of the route, we walk along the special Cromvoirt dike, which was once built here to protect the fields around the village from flooding by the Meuse. It is now a beautiful (walking) ribbon in the landscape. In a circular movement we return along quiet sandy paths to Cromvoirt.
