Nehren - Esslingen (Georgii-Waldstadion) und zurück

A tour that, with few exceptions, runs along cycle paths next to the Neckar and is flat or has a slight decline until about 5 km before reaching the destination. Although from Nürtingen onwards you are already in the metropolitan area of the state capital Stuttgart, you hardly notice it. There are repeatedly idyllic spots on the Neckar inviting to rest. Along the entire route, there are guesthouses and kiosks that also invite to a break. Only at the end of the stage do you ride from Plochingen to Altbach through built-up area before continuing along the Neckar to Esslingen, where after crossing the Stuttgart - Ulm railway line, there is a long ascent (about 5 km) on the southwest slope with 240 meters of elevation to overcome. The view over the Neckar valley from the Jägerhaus guesthouse quickly makes you forget the effort.
