Mittelberg - Mahlberg

From the parking lot Wiesenhof to Kernhütte, turn right towards Mittelberg, the entrance to Mittelberg directly left uphill, at the edge of the forest to the right, next left, towards Moosbronn. Nice trail to Naturfreundehaus (caution: crosses the road). Continue towards Moosbronn, at the intersection go straight ahead by bike (pay attention to the signs). In the forest, follow a steep trail uphill. Caution: large stones, branches, water grooves.. (not easy going up or down!)

Alternative: leave Moosbronn towards Freiolsheim and from there ride up to Mahlberg.

At the Bildstock up, head towards Mahlberg tower, keep left, a gentle uphill trail, easy to ride. At the end of the trail, take a sharp right onto the "upper Mahlbergweg". After the next left curve, the destination is almost in sight. Caution, before that, there are still two small stone steps to climb (uphill). Welcome to Mahlberg!

For the descent, return the same way back to the Bildstock at the big intersection. Here, keep left towards Althof, on the forest path. Caution: in the further course of the path, there is currently (July 2016) a large sand field.

In Althof, cross Herrenalber Straße (main street), keep right at the edge of the forest towards Bernbach. Long straight section uphill and downhill to the opposite edge of the forest. Here, turn left back to Kern-Hütte and to the starting point "Wiesenhof".
