Wesertour Nord

XC Tour from Bremen Nord to Bremerhaven, the route is designed to largely avoid main roads, but can still be cycled on firm ground with gravel or asphalt. Alternatively to the start and finish points, there are several places with parking options on the circuit from which one can start. The route passes by some restaurants and cafés and many spots that are suitable for a break. From the Bremer Schweiz, it first goes over the training area of the former barracks in Schwanewede to the U-boat bunker Valentin. The U-boat bunker has been open to visitors since 2016. Continuing along the Weser heading north, one can cycle on the dike paths or the parallel road. These are in excellent condition, especially in the northern part of the tour. From the Sandstadt lighthouse, the last kilometers to Dedesdorf run almost directly along the Weser. The intermediate destination is the Strandcafé & Tapasbar Weserperle. The return journey leads to the Rechtenflethermoor and the Hagener Königsmoor and from there along the edge of the Garlstedt training area until the A27 is again crossed westbound. From here, it's just a stone's throw until the starting point is in sight. In case of heavy rain, it can happen that some sections of the route in the nature reserve, especially on the Garlstedt training area, are only partially passable.
