Hagnau pier - we always ride along the lake, passing by the Haltnau wine tavern, heading west towards Meersburg (historical old town). Here we cross the pedestrian zone (pushing the bike) and turn immediately right just before the ferry harbor parking lot onto the main road to Unteruhldingen. Following the sign for the Lake Constance round trip, the road leads to the town center, passing the historic stilt houses towards Birnau (baroque building). After the tennis courts, we initially turn left and then after about 10 meters turn right. We leave the next wastewater treatment plant on the left. After that, a bridge crosses a stream, and immediately afterwards we turn left and head back towards the lake. After about 300 meters, we return to the lakeside path, where we turn right. Consequently, we pass through the small and charming towns of Seefelden and Maurach. Continuing along the lake, our next destination is the pilgrimage church of Birnau. Here we cross the parking lot to the north and follow the signs "Salem, Prälatenweg, and Affenberg". Through an underpass under B31 we ride on the Prälatenweg (gravel road, forest path) to our next destination, the Affenberg (refreshment opportunity, no admission fee). Bypassing the Affenberg to the right, we follow the signs "Salem Castle". This means another closed forest section follows, but with an asphalted road. Immediately before the Salem castle complex, we turn right (unless you want to visit) and head towards Stephansfeld. Here we turn right before the village onto an agricultural road (paved) towards Mimmenhausen. At the next junction in Bodenseestraße in Mimmenhausen, we turn right, cross the village and finally at the end of the village we turn left towards Buggensegel/Ahausen. After about 1 km, we reach the turnoff to Grasbeuren (right). We follow this. In Grasbeuren, we initially turn left onto the main road towards Ahausen, then after about 200 meters we turn right again towards Baitenhausen/Meersburg. In Baitenhausen, we turn right in the town center towards Meersburg. Now we face a continuous climb of about 1 km, passing the pilgrimage church of Baitenhausen (at halfway) towards Riedetsweiler (view of the entire eastern Lake Constance and the Alps). If someone is now looking for the shortest way back to Hagnau, they turn left here towards Stetten, or they can stay on the main road and head towards Meersburg. Via Stetten to Hagnau: Upon arriving in Stetten, we turn right at the junction onto B33 and follow the main road until just before the junction with B31 towards Hagnau. This means we cross B31 and turn left at the next opportunity onto the parallel road to B31, and then immediately turn left towards Hagnau. Now we are south of B31, and after a longer "descent" we are soon back at our starting point. Via Meersburg to Hagnau: We ride in Riedetsweiler on the local bike path towards Meersburg until we reach the junction with B33. Here there are several options for reaching Hagnau. Either you turn right towards the ferry or the lower town, and then take the lakeside path through the old town to Hagnau. Or you turn left along B33 to the roundabout, take the second exit to the right towards the lake, or take the municipal connection road parallel to B31 (pay attention to the signage).
