Traversée des Alpes Avignon Thônon-le-Bains

Start Monteux SNCF station (to avoid exiting Avignon by bike)

Finish on the shores of Lake Geneva at Thonon-les-Bains (SNCF station).

Via the Sault plateau (at the foot of Ventoux), the Buëch region, the Dévoluy, the Oisans, the Col de la Croix de Fer, the Col de la Madeleine, a part of Tarantaise and Beaufortin, the Mont-Blanc region, the Chablais.

This crossing suits me because it allowed me to pass through places I had never been before and mostly took me on quiet roads (at the cost of unpaved sections reputedly inaccessible to road bikes, which is true for bikes shod with 25 or less, but I am on 700Cx28).

Passing through Saint Gervais is for personal reasons. There are easy ways to avoid this detour.

The "gap" between Moutiers and Aime is due to my refusal to ride on the Tarantaise road among cars. I therefore used the TER for about fifteen km.
