Bad Salzuflen Known for its healing saline springs, the former salt-salting town offers air and water like by the sea. 600,000 liters of brine flow daily over the mighty graduation towers in the heart of the town, creating a fresh sea breeze. It's especially refreshing to breathe deeply in the walk-in experience graduation tower at the Kurpark, unique in Europe. With 120 hectares of nature in the city center, the spa and landscape garden with old trees, wide lawns, and colorful flowerbeds invites for extended walks. From this green oasis, you head directly into the historic old town. Gorgeously decorated half-timbered houses from the 16th century with intricately carved gables and ornaments frame a picturesque setting for a stop at one of the many cafes and restaurants.

Lemgo The old Hanseatic town of Lemgo impresses with well-preserved half-timbered and Weser Renaissance architecture. Particularly worth seeing are the Witch Mayor's House, the town hall at the historic marketplace, and the entirely wooden Junker House.

Brake Castle Brake Castle was expanded from 1587 as the residence of the Counts of Lippe in Renaissance style. Surrounded by a moat, it stands on the foundations of one of the largest medieval castles in northern Germany. The striking tower makes it the widely visible landmark of the old Hanseatic town of Lemgo. The buildings near the castle still convey an impressive image of an early modern residence, including the domain, three historic mills, and a laundry house.

Sternberg Castle Documented ownership of the castle dates back to 1252 with Heinrich, Count of Sternberg. In 1405, the castle and county of Sternberg passed to the noble lords of Lippe, coming into their permanent possession in 1788. The Princes of Lippe carried out extensive expansions from the first half of the 15th century, constructing the south tower and remodeling the north tower into its present form. Due to its unique location and historic ambiance, Sternberg Castle has become a preferred venue for cultural and ceremonial events in recent years.
