Calambrone-V. Benedetta-dorsale-Calambrone

From 'Regina Mundi' in Calambrone, you reach Livorno-Via delle Sorgenti and the Puzzolente. You start climbing inside the Forest of the Benedetta Valley reaching Crocione (junction between via della Puzzolente and via del Corbolone). Then you descend to the Eremo della Sambuca and arrive at the Crucifix of the Valle Benedetta (if the time is right, you can descend 500 meters to taste excellent wild boar tagliatelle at the trattoria Camporeggi). Then you go left and take the Radar variant to join Via della Valle Benedetta. You climb via del Radar but leave it before the summit. You take a dirt road on the right leading to the Colognole aqueduct. You climb again to the sources of the aqueduct and reach loc. Gli Specchi (junction of via della Valle Benedetta). You follow the dirt road 'gli Specchi' to the SP of Popogna (the track in the last curve goes right on a single track, but if you want, you can go left and within 100 meters you are back on asphalt). At Palazzine, you descend right and follow the entire Tagliafuoco to Castellaccio. You go left and, before starting the descent to Quercianella, you go right to take the ridge leading to Boccale. Turn right and reach the Antignano station. Continue until you come out onto Via del Tirreno (the road leading up to the sanctuary of Montenero). Cross and climb via delle Pianacce. At the first curve, turn right onto via della Principessa and then arrive at Montenero Basso. You climb right on Via del Castellaccio for about 1 km then take the left onto via del Pino. Take via di Collinaia to reach Leccia. Continue towards Salviano, but after a few meters turn right onto via della Valle. Pass the restaurant Le 5 Querce (which you leave on your left) to join via dell'Uliveta, which you follow up to Via del Limone. Reach the station passing through via dei Condotti Vecchi and using the underpass. From Piazza Dante follow Viale Carducci, then right onto Viale I. Nievo, Via Firenze, via Genova on the left. Reach via Da Vinci on the right. Climb the overpass going left to reach Viale del Tirreno.

Note: If you want, from Via del Limone you can reach Stagno then Coltano and Tirrenia (road done on the outward journey).
