About This Route

3rd day of Tour del Sufrimiento from San Jose de Ocoa to Santo Domingo. 6 to 7 hours. Time trial starts at Central Park and is scary because you have to go through a traffic light after 100 metres. First section is main road, then secondary road. Asphalt ends after about 10 kms. If it rains, the last part of the climb is very tricky. It can get cold. After the end of the time trial section the track drops and it gets very hot. After the first 2 climbs there are lots of places to buy drinks and snacks. Great scenery. 4 big climbs in all. Asphalt starts again along the downhill after the 2nd big climb. The last 30 odd kms are no fun but take you back to Santo Domingo.
