About this route
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to transfer such a long distance. It worked from the GPS to my maps. In the meantime, I divide my laps into going and returning. For most riders, the route to Aura (90 km) would surely be sufficient. It's a beautiful route. But I wanted to go to Kreuzberg, and I wanted it to be as new and long a journey as possible. I had not anticipated that maintaining a 20 km/h average would not be feasible. Then my arrogance, using the GPS only for recording, led me astray twice on the A 7. Such a track in the woods makes quite a lot of noise. It goes up and down a few times. Just before Geroda, you even get an alpine feeling, the path runs directly through the Seiferts farm. In Geroda, I was behind in Mühlengrund because I wanted to go up to the Würzburg House. The asphalt road is about 5 km long, gaining around 330 meters in elevation. About 1 km is the last really steep section. It was not new to me either, so there were no new sections on the agenda. Up to Brend at Unterweißenbrunn, the variant is even identical to the Trans-Germany 2007. However, today I had been on the road longer, so some climbs felt harder than I remembered. Time was also somehow slipping away. When I arrived at the monastery at 18:20, I was exhausted. I also usually go up to the transmitter first and then take a break. So monastery beer and roast pork are the perfect sustenance after such a climb. The 1,300 m of elevation gain is spread over 46 km from Aura, but as the middle part of a 200-plus route, it is sufficiently tough. Since it's still March, I had to ride with lights from Bad Neustadt. Despite my good knowledge of the route from frequent rides on this stretch, the tempo on the route remained intact. I started at 8:50 and arrived at 23:50!!!!!
