<p>Clausthal-Zellerfeld – Oker Reservoir – Torfhaus – Altenau – Söse Reservoir – Osterode – Herzberg – Sieber – Sonnenberg – Clausthal-Zellerfeld</p> <p>Climb up the Ad.-Roemer-Straße, after 300 meters turn right onto Erzstraße. At the junction (Km 1.0) turn right. At the fork at Km 1.8 turn left towards Altenau/Okersee. After a descent, turn left onto the B 498 (Km 9.1) and follow along the Oker Reservoir. At the forebay dam (Km 10.1) turn right over the lake and then left along the lake. At the end of the lake arm (Km 12.8), after a bridge, turn right uphill through the Kalbe valley. At Km 17.3 turn right onto the B 4, which you follow for 1,500 meters to Torfhaus (Brocken view, inns). At the fork after the high point turn right downhill to Altenau. There turn left (Km 27), the road begins to climb again. At Km 31.9 turn right towards Clausthal, after 900 meters turn left for a long descent along the Söse Reservoir to Osterode. There turn left (multi-lane, Km 49.1), after 200 meters right again. Now follow the road in a left bend (noticeable main direction), until you pass under the multi-lane road again. Follow the road which soon runs parallel to the B 243 to Herzberg, where on the edge of town (Km 58.9) turn left, then pass under the federal road and follow the road in a right bend. At the T-junction (Km 60.3) turn left and after 200 meters right again. Soon on the side road into the Sieber valley, where at Km 71.1 turn left onto the road closed to car traffic – continue climbing through the Sieber valley. (Busier alternative: Straight over the Sieber Pass, after the descent turn left over the steepest ramps through St. Andreasberg. Junction with the B 242 in Sonnenberg). At the height turn left onto the B 242 (km 81.7) and back to Clausthal-Zellerfeld.</p>
