Mittlere Elba Runde

Hello .. I usually ride this route on Elba. This loop is especially recommended in the afternoon/evening because in the N/O part of Elba (Rio Marina and Rio Nell Elba) you mostly ride in the shade due to the mountains!! Also, you can adjust this route anytime based on your current fitness and mood.

1. Extend the route with a good climb by turning right towards Capoliveri up to the town center.

2. Significantly shorten:

At the Rio Nell Elba junction, do not turn right up the mountain but return the way you came.

If you decide to climb towards Magazzini, please descend VERY slowly .. this road is very bad, steep, and partly very narrow!

3. Shortcut if heading to Magazzini:

Upon reaching SP26, instead of turning right towards Portoferraio, you can also turn left!

4. Shortcut with a climb at the end ..

Just before Portoferraio, at the traffic light, turn left towards Lacona over Colle Reciso.

If you realize you are not so fit anymore or it is getting late .. you should turn there .. from that point on you have no more possibilities to shorten.
