Tour attorno a Leukerbad

The itinerary takes place on the beautiful mountains around Leukerbad, a famous Swiss spa town in the Valais canton, about 230 km from Milan. The itinerary can be completed in a day that can be concluded with a restorative and relaxing bath either at the Burgerbad or at the Lindner Alpentherme, the difficult choice is yours! The route is a long single track of about 35 km with just over 800 m of elevation gain, offering breathtaking views of the valley and numerous 4,000-meter peaks of the Alps: from the Dom de Mischabel to Mont Blanc. The terrain is varied (trail, dirt road, cobblestone, asphalt), the overall effort from both a physical and technical standpoint is medium. The route takes place mainly on paths dedicated to MTB and indicated by red signs (reference to follow = black route, number 7, Bachalp), some sections are pedestrian paths (you do not have priority!) and others are on less frequented streets. From Rinderhütte (top station of the Torrent cable car), with the cable car behind you, descend to the right along the dirt road, immediately veering to the left following the MTB signs (red signs with a bike). This is followed by a long traverse with numerous ups and downs (some very steep) and technical sections, but always offering stunning views. Following the signs, you arrive at Oberu where you climb to a small alpine pasture from which you descend to Feschel (the signs indicate to go down along the road, but with care for pedestrians it is possible and more fun to follow the marked paths). From here, the return to Leukerbad begins passing through Guttet and Albinen (a small and picturesque mountain village that remains intact), alternating sections of descent and ascent, then you climb towards Flaschen where, just before reaching the village, you veer left to reach Leukerbad by following the path that leads directly to the top station of the Torrent cable car.
